Surviving the Pikapocalypse

Pika’s dark and cinematic campaign anthem film, “Pikapocalypse,” directed by RSA Films’ Marie Schuller and edited by Val Thrasher, shows users how swapping and morphing pieces of their world — their cat’s poop into a beautiful bonsai, for example—can make reality optional. This campaign for Pika, intended to showcase the reality-altering elements of the social-first AI video platform and how it has the power to bring your wildest and weirdest ideas to life. The goal for the campaign was to strategically create a live action shoot and overlay it with the rebellious, imaginative features of Pika’s augmented reality.

When Val first read the script and concept, she was instantly excited about editing the campaign. "Everyone involved was deeply committed to bringing this story to life in a way that would reveal itself to an increasingly curious audience; from the overall concept, to Marie’s visionary directing, to the pacing and shot choices, and the epic and ever-changing elements in the created world. It’s bold, creative and I am excited to see the reaction from the creator community,” says Val. Pika continues to expand its social video toolkit with easy ways to create content that stops viewers in their tracks. The launch of the Pikapocalypse campaign asserts Pika’s positioning as a leader in social-first AI video creation. Your content, and the world you present, will never be the same.
