Effective date: October 9, 2026

This policy explains what information Abandon Editorial LLC ("Abandon", "we", "us") collects through our website, www.abandoneditorial.com, and through Abandon Social, the internal tool we use to publish our own posts to our Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. It also explains how we use that information and the choices you have.

Information we collect on our website

  • Information you send us. If you email us or contact us through our website, we receive what you send, such as your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply to you and to work with you.

  • Cookies and analytics. Our website is hosted by Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to run the site and to give us aggregate traffic statistics. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

We don't sell products through our website and we don't collect payment information.

Abandon Social: our internal publishing tool

Abandon Social is used only by Abandon staff to prepare, approve and publish Abandon's own posts. We don't offer it to the public and we don't use it to post for anyone else. When we connect it to our own accounts, it handles:

Account access. Access tokens and account identifiers for Abandon's own Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, issued by Meta and LinkedIn when an Abandon administrator authorizes the tool. They let the tool publish posts and read basic statistics for our own posts.

  • Post content. The videos, images, captions and project credits we prepare for our posts.

  • Credits and tags. The names of people and companies credited on our projects, along with their public Instagram handles and public LinkedIn page or profile identifiers. We use these only so we can credit and tag collaborators in our posts.

  • Post performance. Aggregate statistics for our own posts, such as views, reach and engagement, which we use to improve our posting.

We use this information only to create, schedule and publish Abandon's own posts and to understand how those posts perform. We don't use it for advertising, we don't build profiles of individuals, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

LinkedIn and Instagram data

  • We access LinkedIn and Instagram only through their official APIs, and only for the Abandon accounts our administrators have authorized.

  • We keep the identifiers needed to tag credited companies and people (for example, LinkedIn organization IDs). We follow each platform's terms on how long other data may be stored, and we delete platform data we no longer need.

  • You can remove the tool's access to an account at any time from that platform's settings: on LinkedIn under Settings, Data privacy, Permitted services; on Instagram under Settings, Apps and websites.

Service providers

We share information only with the providers that run these services for us, and only as far as each one needs to do its job:

  • Meta (Instagram) and LinkedIn, to publish our posts.

  • Slack, where our team reviews and approves drafts.

  • Anthropic, whose AI models help draft captions and choose images. Content we send is processed under Anthropic's commercial terms and is not used to train its models.

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website.

  • Any image-processing or scheduling providers we use to prepare or publish posts.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. Access tokens are replaced when they expire or when access is revoked. Drafts and working files for posts are deleted on a regular schedule after they're published.

Security

Abandon Social runs on computers that Abandon controls. Access tokens are stored privately and never published. Posts are published only after an authorized Abandon team member approves them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop tagging you in our posts. Email us at abandoneditorial@gmail.com. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

Our website and tools are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date above.
