Audi Reunites With Abandon Editorial for Latest Campaign Featuring Morgan Freeman
Audi reunites with Abandon Editorial for the brand’s latest spot, this time putting the new Audi Q3 at the center of an unexpected ride. Edited by Edward Khoma and Michael Papavero via Ogilvy, the spot follows a young woman’s journey on the road, led by a voiceover from Morgan Freeman.
The spot opens on the Audi Q3 as the driver, played by actress Chase Infiniti, sets off through forest roads, moving into mountainous terrain and along the beach at sunset, with Freeman’s voice guiding viewers and reflecting on how stepping into the car shifts the course of her life. Building to a reveal, the camera pans into the vehicle to show Freeman in the passenger seat, humorously landing on a perfectly timed “seriously?” from the driver. The spot closes with Audi’s tagline, “Made for a life of yes.”
“Everything hinged on the rug pull,” shares Edward. “The joke only works if the setup really leads the viewer on, so we treated the edit like a cinematic film first, letting Morgan’s voice and the visuals breathe. That way, when the camera lands on him in the passenger seat, the viewer gets a genuine ‘aha’ moment. Once the structure was there, Michael took the edit and continued to tighten the comedic timing, shaping the final tone with the wonderful team at Ogilvy."
"Working with Morgan Freeman’s voice is a dream as an editor,” says Papavero. “It immediately sets a tone and rhythm that elevates every moment, and it was honestly surreal hearing his voice come out of my speakers day to day. Having that as a foundation made the collaboration with Edward and the team at Ogilvy especially rewarding as we brought this piece to life for Audi."
